First camping trip!

We got the lights changed over to a more modern set up and they didnt work. My husband didnt figure it out. I told him that its eather he wired it wrong, HIS set up has shorted out or that The trailer lights are shorted out. He said hed figure it all out before we came home. But guess what? He didnt. Why do today what you can put off till someone elce dose?

On our way. The trailer pulled nice! It was light however I loaded it wrong and he said that it was too much on the passangers side. Well if he wanted it loaded a certin way he should have loaded it. I never load for camping because he doesnt like how I do it. Then we dont get out till middnight because he waits till the hr AFTER we plan on leaving to unload his truck and load his truck.

We got there and the whole place wasnt so much packed but the way people set up there sight in order for us to camp we would be blocking someone in. So we found a place we like to call the end of the world! It was great right next to the beach! However Lawsons Landing is full of people who fish and right next to the beach isnt a real good camping spot.

Well Matt got the trailer set and level I got a fire going and coco the wonder mut got all tangled in everything. She is so not use to being tied up!

Once getting it all set we saw something bad!Real Bad!!!! The light over the couch/bed in the back broke off!!!!!!!!! Then I found out how! Matt decided to play with the bunk stuff moved the polls all over and now nothing will match up and we dont know which one is for wich and now it just pops off when ever we tow it......NICE! So Im not exactly sure what were ganna do but we cant sleep on the bed much with the wires all hanging all over the place the light just hanging there..........But Matt wont do anything so its all up to me.

All worked great! The ice box is awsome! I just wish it was a bit bigger! They have one of those Mini fridges I call dorm fridge and I think were ganna take it out. We were thinking about putting in a rv fridge but now were thinking it would be nice to just have the storage space, besides we have spent years just using a ice chest so whats the problem using a ice box?

We think we may get a generator and just remove the ONE thing that works on the battery and have all the lights and stuff work off the gennerator, I was a bit put out having to be so close to the porta potty so I kinda wanna do a potty in the trailer but Matt doesnt.......Im sure he will give in to me but I dont want him to I just want him to eather want to have a potty or not.......Not what I want.

He wants to go camping in the trailer again soon but being that he doesnt wanna unload stuff clean or nothing I think it will happen when I get around to it all.........

Packing the trailer

Today I am packing the trailer up for the trial run.......
We always take trial runs to Dillon Beach or other wise known as http://lawsonslanding.com/

Its a great place to camp, fish play on the beach or so on..... Just if you go be aware that they are close to Sears point raceway. ( or what ever its called now)

I know there is a few things we will wanna fix or change but this is the trip to see what will need to be done for real big trips. Being that my back is bad tent camping isn't easy for me. But one or two nights on the ground isn't bad.........

So I will just put our camping stove in just in case because you never know. Although I am excited to have a stove and oven......it is old and so is the gas lines. Which we will be replacing even if they don't leak because you never know! I kinda wanna change the color of the stove. White? Blue? Teal? IDK but I do know I wanna paint it a new color not replace it as its the original stove. If I paint it and the ice box white it wont matter what color I do the inside of the trailer....it will match no matter what.

Did I mention I wanna keep the ice box as well? I just wanna add a new fridge that will work on propane or electrical......How cool was it that this trailer was kept up so well?

Found the new trailer

After searching for a year and the summer almost over we found the travel trailer! It was small enough to be pulled by a car ( to which I may be getting in a year or 3) my Dodge Durango ( which may be sold in a year or 3) My husbands Big Dodge Truck or his small Toyota Tacoma...... And the best part was it was a classic!
Not much NEED to be done we can go camping the first weekend which we plan to do!
We got it home after 10:30pm so our neighbors may have been supprised as to seeing it in our drive way...or not. We have had a 28' trailer here once we rebuilt and sold ( it was too big for us) So maybe they wernt supprised at all!
The next day we started going through things...Water how it all works ( the holding tank hasnt been used in 30 years) We didnt check the holding tank as it was metal so were ganna replace it with a plastic one and maybe even a water heater so we can have hot water!
The electrical is good! But the sink leaks and there is much we need to do!
My son loved helping get the plumbing back in order for this trip this weekend! We will be going to Dylan Beach like we always do for all first trips! So this weekend we will be be going on the maiden trip! Wish us luck.
